Have you guys heard of "Truth the Vote"?

Listening to Papantonio filling in for Ed Schutlz and he was talking about a teabagger group that's rounding up volunteers to try to harrass people (in democratic areas, minorities, etc) to keep them from voting. By putting cameras in their faces and asking them if they are legally able to vote and other BS tactics. Checking out their website http://www.truethevote.org/ it appears that is exactly what they are planning on doing by "protecting the vote" and not protecting people's right to vote.

Folks, we've got to make sure that local democratic parties know about this and have plans in place to actually protect the vote through rigorous poll watching and if need be, reporting of this type of (almost certainly) illegal activity.

I poll watched in 08 for OFA in Georgia and helped make sure that a few people who they were trying to turn away were able to vote. If they are going to steal it, this is going to be one place, on the front lines, where they are going to try to do it by denying people their right to vote.

Now's the time to get involved if you have not already done so.

If they show up doing that shit at my precinct, I will tell them to leave. If they don't, I will inform my field officer that I have a problem and I'm calling the police.

They are not allowed to do that in CA. Observers are allowed, but they cannot disrupt the process in any way, and they cannot take photos. Voters are allowed to take photos of each other voting, but observers cannot take photos of people voting.
