The President of the United States lied about a hurricane forecast

and then committed a crime to cover up the lie.

Think about the level of depravity that took. Hurricanes are life and death events - not vanity projects for assholes with big egos.

This has to be stopped. This has gone way too far. This is not trivial - it is frightening.

The kind of crime you hear about on those podcasts that deal with dumb criminals and the stupid things they do.

Like guys who call the cops to complain that $10,000 in cocaine was just stolen from them.

Or people who break into stores with full burglary tools, etc., not realizing that the store is still open, full of customers, and the police station is right next door.

This was even more ridiculous and inept than that.

His constant paranoia, anger, mental confusion, and worry that he is losing control of the economy and some of his voters (the independents) are taking a toll. If he’s in the beginning stages of dementia, his anger, his incessant repetition of every crazy thought, his sing-song speech pattern and inability to remember words are all symptomatic. Now I’m wondering whether his advisers/family insisted that he cancel his trip and send Pence because they were worried about his mental condition and that he might publicly show that he is becoming irrational.

14. America, meet your president with the Hare Psychopathy Checklist...

Definition
The Hare Psychopathy Checklist-Revised (PCL-R) is a diagnostic tool used to rate a person's psychopathic or antisocial tendencies. People who are psychopathic prey ruthlessly on others using charm, deceit, violence or other methods that allow them to get [away] with [what] they want. The symptoms of psychopathy include: lack of a conscience or sense of guilt, lack of empathy, egocentricity, pathological lying, repeated violations of social norms, disregard for the law, shallow emotions, and a history of victimizing others.

Originally designed to assess people accused or convicted of crimes, the PCL-R consists of a 20-item symptom rating scale that allows qualified examiners to compare a subject's degree of psychopathy with that of a prototypical psychopath. It is accepted by many in the field as the best method for determining the presence and extent of psychopathy in a person.

The Hare checklist is still used to diagnose members of the original population for which it was developed— adult males in prisons, criminal psychiatric hospitals, and awaiting psychiatric evaluations or trial in other correctional and detention facilities. Recent experience suggests that the PCL-R may also be used effectively to diagnose sex offenders as well as female and adolescent offenders.

but the way things are rigged, nothing will be done to eliminate the problem. And as sure as there’ll be more marketplace massacres with military-style weapons, Trump will continue to lie, steal, cheat and break laws in plain sight.

And with all the insanity and lawlessness on display, I don’t feel particularly confident that the 2020 election will be free and fair.

Common sense has left the building.
