the weekend biking the GAP trail. On one mountain top
I counted 30 of those huge wind generators. Those things have to cost a fortune. They must generate a lot of electric to be financially feasible. Does anyone know how they compare with fossile fuels? I would guess they must cost a few million each.

(35,338 posts)A few years ago I could have bought old farm land here in Ohio for $500 an acre now people here are getting $10000 or more an acre for drilling rights and more for royalties on gas.

(35,338 posts)drilling rights. They drill for miles horizontally it doesn't destroy my land and if you don't sell they take it anyway. The well head itself is a very small footprint. But I was talking about the wind generators are you against wind and solor too?

(51,308 posts)I have 26 acres of mostly forested land in NC. Theyll have to pry it from my cold dead fingers.
Its got every kind of bird, numerous owls, deer, and just about every other critter you can imagine.

(35,338 posts)a wind mill. Solar panels would take it all to produce that much electric. If I was younger I would put them in my yard for my own use though.
