On Monday.

According to the National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Dorian has been upgraded. The path ranges from Miami to Jacksonville. West Palm Beach is in the direct path.

Stay tuned for updates.

I'm cool, but I might send the family north to folks in Georgia if this holds.

Also, if it's a 4, get ready for the evacuation and log jam on the roads.

8. It's almost always safe to stay in Jax. unless you live right by a lake or river,

that could potentially flood your house or right on the ocean or live in a trailer. The least safe thing about Jax. is all the huge Live Oak trees that topple over and take out the power, roofs, etc. I'm 67 and have lived there all my life except for 20 years in CA. There's only 1 hurricane that hit and that was back in the 60's. There's been tons that were projected to hit us, but due to the curve of the land, they usually go right on by without the eye coming anywhere near us. We get tropical storms often, but not the actual hurricane strength wind and rain.

If you don't feel safe, please do what makes you comfortable. Just letting you know that historically, Jax is the safest area to be anywhere hear a coastline in FL. Matthew was the one that scared me, but luckily it moved 20 miles west so our storm winds were only 75 mpg, vs. the 120 mph. near the eye.

I just have my folks who live in Georgia worrying about their granddaughter staying here without power for a week or more.

I'm just glad now we have social media. Years ago we sat in the dark and later found out we were the last ones in town to have power and we didn't go out for fast food because we didn't think anyone had power.

Now we'll know who's open for business.

Seems like it would be a factor. Climate change anyone?

Florida seems like it should care but they keep voting in jackasses like Rubio and Scott.

I would also point out that Florida's election officials are corrupt as hell.

I have no doubt that many of Florida's elections have been stolen.

Didn't they use their state voting rolls in Texas and Florida to disenfranchise many Florida Democratic voters?

strengthening of storms, per meteorologists on tv. I'm not surprised they are predicting a Cat 4. I'm wondering if the hurricane will reach the Gulf of Mexico and strengthen again.
