Trump exhibits CLASSIC ABUSER BEHAVIOR

NOTICE this is CLASSIC ABUSER behavior. Any domestic abuse victim would recognize the gaslighting + the establishment of POWER OVER another person or entity (the media) in order to discredit them when they tell the truth about the abuser (Trump). They ONLY know warfare and it's ALWAYS based in deception.

I am not joking. I really do feel traumatized by him. It is back to that feeling of being powerless to do anything about this evil person who is harming you (and the country, world, etc.) and not being able to escape it either. Suddenly, this just clicked for me why I am so powerfully, negatively affected by him.

more of the same until the abuser dies. You can't treat this disorder, they don't want to be cured, they think they're fine, and actually better than all the fools that get abused.

It all comes from their own terror of other people. They have to exercise power over others to protect themselves from their own delusional view of others as enemies and attackers.

You're supposed to feel sorry for them as victims, even though they pretend to be the most powerful, intelligent, skilled, least racist, most loving etc etc.

Since all he does is lie, no one will miss anything truly important. I would love to see the White House press corps just not show up for a few days of his incomprehensible mutterings to the sound of a helicopter. He might get the message, and the rest of us would be spared having to mute the television every time he appears on screen.

That’s a point that needs to be out there, everywhere, repeated umpteen times every quarter-hour. Pound it in, over and over and over again. Til it’s thoroughly implanted.

Leaders around the world have learned that they can ignore crowds of protesters and keep going with whatever heinous things they’re doing and nothing will happen.
You can no longer shame them into changing their agendas because they no longer have any sense of shame.
They’re marching in Russia over unfair elections, they’re marching in Hong Kong....the Russian and Chinese governments are laughing at them.
I say this as someone who has participated in protests since 1970, when I organized a Vietnam War protest in Birmingham, Alabama, with all the permits, and of course still got my head bashed in by Birmingham cops.

how the media just ignored us or if they talked about the nationwide marches as if they were insignificant and so passé. It was frustrating to be discounted as some mildly interesting incidents while the media sounded the drums of war like it was glamorous and exciting and they couldn’t wait to see the latest shock and awe fireworks. They could barely contain their enthusiasm for the coming war while being bored by the anti war marches.

and I can’t tell you how many times Trump has triggered my feelings of being unsafe, of imminent danger, of hopelessness. I tear up just reading what he has done to certain children. I want to vomit when I read what he says about women. I get agitated when I read things what he has said about minorities. He actually sickens me. The absolute worst part of this is the disgusting collection of Trump enablers. It’s a family of excuse- making thugs. *THUGS*

For the sake of a little power and some benefits, these despicable people are willing to sell out their country. Actually sell it out. Everything we stand for. Everything we are. And nobody even tries to stop Trump. Nobody. It reminds me of the absolute despair I felt as a child when I looked to adults to do something about every kind of abuse and neglect. Nobody.

That’s s why I totally and deeply understand some voters’ demand for something different. Something new. Something not tried before. This has gone on long enough.

Here’s the thing about “just joking” as a strategy: it’s what abusers do.

They say something nasty or threatening; watch for the desired reaction; then say “just kidding”—AND attack you for having no sense of humor if you don’t deem it a joke

It’s gaslighting w/a menacing edge

He’s “just joking” when he says he’ll pardon aides for illegal acts, just like he kids about staying past his term.

The infamous Roy Cohn told him to fight, always. Attack, always. And when they hit you, hit them back ten times as hard.

Look at his track record of behavior - maybe just since his candidacy began, which is when this life-long behavior pattern stepped up onto center stage for the whole country to see (if not the whole world). He used to be a curiosity. Human frippery. Another silly media gadfly from the Big Town. Kind of a low-level attention-hungry clown in a business suit. An amusement. Reality-Show Guy. On the Kardashian level. A buffoon. Someone you never took seriously - mainly because you never had to. He was a freakin’ carnival attraction, for Pete’s sake. An entertainment/entertainer. A freak. A relatively well-dressed Midtown Manhattan freak. I keep thinking back to “Network”, one of my all-time favorite movies. There was a line in there spoken by Peter Finch as the anchorman/social phenomenon: “we’re in the boredom-killing business!” The Donald sure was.

Until he stepped outside those parameters. He took that VERY public escalator ride - downward (in EVERY sense of the word) to the main floor level which in any building is where most people can be found, or gather. Quite a metaphor there. Up on the mezzanine level where he was STRICTLY pop culture and therefore relatively harmless. Above the dirty scrappy hardball fray on the main floor where anybody can enter and everybody has immediate access.

Nobody took him that seriously back then. You weren’t supposed to. He was a joke. A late-night comedian’s punchline. A cheap pop-culture sugar-high who did cameo appearances on comedy blockbusters like “Home Alone.” A famous-for-being-famous figure whose clown suit was a business suit. He had even developed his own signature schtick. Until he changed and audaciously expanded his “brand.”

Seems to me we have to look at this strategically and analytically. Know your enemy. Especially since he’s pretty sure he knows you.

Okay. So how do we twist that around so it works for us? kkkarl rove made his reputation by attacking an opponent at his/her strengths. And nobody ever granted donald any exclusive rights to that Roy Cohn advice.

Just some thoughts to kick around.
