This toon is just simply - in the age of "Me-Too" - inappropriate and NOT amusing.

It is NEVER appropriate to make light of rape, even metaphorically.

Fwiw, laughter defeats panic and stiffens courage and determination. Evolution fixed us up that way. And in the middle of what really is a multi-front war right here at home, we have good reason to laugh these days.

The last image was disturbing to me as well.

I understand that the point of political cartoons is not to be genuinely amusing. However, the imagery used is generally, outlandish and outsized, even absurd. The visuals are meant to make us think about wrongs happening in the world through an exaggerated lense.

The visual in the last cartoon makes me think of actual rape. The caricature styling and the labels aren't enough to make me think of anything but the real, physical powerlessness of rape.
