(18,402 posts)BUT ... I am considering it my last donation for the election season. (I will however be continuing my monthly pledge and doing some canvassing and phone banking for GOTV.)
I signed up as a monthly donor to the campaign last year, so I have been giving regularly all along. The six emails I get per day asking me to contribute yet more have been a bit annoying (and guilt inducing), so I also give an additional amount at the end of each FEC quarter deadline, which happens to be today.
I also gave yesterday my quarterly amounts to the DSCC and DCCC, for Senate and House races. But I'm through till the elections are over. I really think they need to know how annoying it is to be harangued so often for donations. But what is worse, to go unacknowledged when you do give. The DCCC sent me a new email asking me to donate a mere 30 minutes after I'd already made my donation! Then I got 3 more from them later that afternoon and evening. Stop!!! I can't really afford it and have given beyond our means this year. And I don't really feel it's much appreciated. They need to work into their system a "rest" period for donors, in which they will not be emailed or called for at least, say, 2 weeks, after making a donation.
