Trump's rooting for Brazil where they are burning down rainforest. But they are burning down rainforest to clear farmland. And they want the farmland to take business away from American farmers. I'm thinking Trump's farm supporters surely must get this. They have to, right?

Trump really does not give one shit about farmers or any of his other supporters. He loves people that are just like him (example 1, Jeffrey Epstein). He will give his supporters things, but it is all done to help himself, if a bigger prize for himself comes along, he will screw his supporters at the blink of an eye.

unless they are buying from Chinese companies that own USA properties and companies. What I expect to see is Chinese companies buying up USA farmland and farm related businesses through hard to trace shell companies and through associations with compliant Americans. China has a huge number of people when compared to every country except India, Pakistan and Indonesia, it needs countries like ours that has a large amount of tillable land compared to it's population and which has a great deal of skill at food production. China will eventually make us servants to it's national needs, Trump is greatly accelerating that process.

They can kill several birds with one stone, weaken Trump and hopefully get him defeated, but longer term, own large swaths of America that serves their national needs.

Anytime there is a massive difference in two populations, such a thing can happen if both countries are roughly the same. China has been harvesting the lion's share of advanced technical degrees worldwide for more than four decades, they are now putting that to use versus an idiot US President. China is almost ten times larger than us, a 10% growth in it's population creates a country almost as large as us, that is a massive advantage for them but also makes their land needs acute.

The fact that he's a fellow climate-denier whose policies are going to result in a major change in the earth's ecosystem (the Amazon rain forest has been called the planet's lungs because of how much CO2 it turns into oxygen) is a bonus.
