Missouri Farm Bureau To Reconsider Akin Endorsement

Missouri Farm Bureau To Reconsider Akin Endorsement

The Missouri Farm Bureau is reconsidering its endorsement of Rep. Todd Akin in the Missouri Senate race, the Associated Press reports. The group had endorsed Akin three weeks ago, after his victory in the Republican primary — and before his false comment a woman's body can prevent pregnancy in cases of "legitimate rape."

"After polling the Missouri Farm Bureau county leaders, a majority believe the endorsement of Todd Akin for U.S. Senate should be reconsidered," Farm Bureau spokesman Estil Fretwell told the AP, saying that a new endorsement vote could come soon.
