(11,738 posts)Her "Objectivism" was based on the idea that your own happiness is the most valuable goal. She would argue that taking whatever money that the government made available to you, makes sense even as she denounced the idea of the government distributing any of the resources of society.
Nice how the philosophy lets you have it both ways. Hate government as wrong, but take what it gives you. No wonder most serious people reject or ignore her philosophy.

(82,849 posts)Ayn Rand was the first woman called by HUAC for their Hollywood hearings in 1947. She wasn't quite the asshole she eventually became, but even at that early stage the puckering of the sphincter was evident.
