(3,572 posts)Love him or hate him, you give 84 year old men and women a little leeway. The man has given us incredible acting for decades, has directed some fine films, and really - lay off Clint Eastwood. At 84, he can do whatever he damn pleases. He's not on the ballot.
Sorry, but I'm tired of the message getting muddled by silliness and not focusing on issues that really matter.
Call me old-fashioned or out-of-step, but I believe too many important things lie with the results of November 6th and the issues are enormous. We must re-elect our President and tearing down an 84 year old movie icon - for whatever reason - does not help.

(38,958 posts)that he has given us some great entertainment through his career, he is the one who put himself in this situation. He is an adult (obviously capable of making decisions) and he choose not only to be there, but to use the method & words.
I found this all to be rather sad. I do not agree with Mr Eastwood's views, I will respect his works, yet I do believe he embarrassed himself at this event.
I simply find the use of celebrities to be rather silly. He has his opinions and is entitled to them. That does in no way change how I develop my opinions or those opinions themselves. It is all wasted on me and I hope others.
