I like how the other MSNBC host just grin at his silly comments.

(135,846 posts)On July 2, 2008, Schmidt was appointed to head up day to day operations of the McCain campaign in response to concerns that the campaign lacked coordination and a clear message. Rick Davis retained the formal title of "campaign manager".[17][18]

(53,410 posts)He never vetted Sarah Palin and then when he and the McCain campaign realized they'd picked a fucking idiot they still pushed her on the American public as a Vice President of the United States of America. He was as unprofessional as anyone can be and should have lost all credibility among all punditry.
The movie actually showed Sarah Palin to be way in over her head and as unprepared for prime time as they come and it showed her growing avarice for fame and power, but I came away feeling less hatred for her than I did for the people who pushed her onto the public. That was what Steve Schmidt did. He should have resigned rather than try his best to make her our Vice President. We are still suffering the shock waves of her ascendance onto the public stage. Her direct legacy is the Tea Party. It's like a moral plague was released on this country when she was introduced to the public.
