NRA responds to El Paso and Dayton shootings: the real problem is the 'effort to destroy the NRA'

https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2019/8/15/1879237/-NRA-responds-to-El-Paso-and-Dayton-shootings-the-real-problem-is-the-effort-to-destroy-the-NRA

snip of article:

The NRA’s top dog took time out of his busy schedule fending off allegations of financial improprieties to address the recent mass shooting tragedies in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio. In a video posted to the NRA’s social media pages, LaPierre spoke into a camera, reading from a teleprompter. Using intercut footage from Fox News, Wayne LaPierre explains how of course he’s saddened by the events in Texas and Ohio. Of course, it’s terrible. But hey...what we need are more good guys with guns. Set to images of non-Fox News television coverage, LaPierre launches into an attack of the liberal media conspiracy to take away your guns and turn everyone into snowflakes.

Don't they ever get sick of lying. "More good guys with guns"

The NRA is destroying itself from within.

Other countries don't have the problem we have with mass shootings, but we have the NRA and other countries don't. LaPierre may be onto something here. Destroy the NRA, and maybe we get a society that isn't in some kind of suicide pact with crazies who think unfettered access to unlimited firearms. We could have some reasonable regulation of firearms.

Sure, it'll make Wayne LaPierre have to make an honest living, but that strikes me as a small price to pay for curtailing the ongoing carnage we have now.

The shooter was killed 20 seconds after he began shooting.

I’m sure the families of the 9 people he killed in those 20 seconds are so happy a good guy with a gun was there.

No other incident I can remember better show the good guy with a gun argument to be nothing but total bullshit!

The El Paso shooter committed no crime until he began killing people. So a good guy with a gun went bad in a hurry. It’s so much crap.
