@realDonaldTrump
We are winning, big time, against China. Companies & jobs are fleeing. Prices to us have not gone up, and in some cases, have come down. China is not our problem, though Hong Kong is not helping. Our problem is with the Fed. Raised too much & too fast. Now too slow to cut....

(18,837 posts)I'm far from an excerpt in financial matters, but one thought that surfaced on MSNBC is that the trade war is an exercise to see who will "blink first," He trotted out Wilbur Ross to amplify that "we can't hurt Christmas" meme, but if we are getting "billions and billions of dollars" from China, how would that hurt Christmas?
Unless we aren't.
And, we aren't.
It's a sound global strategy right out of the Trump University playbook.

(115,839 posts)that an inverted yield curve has predicted the last seven recessions? Or that his stupid tariffs are a significant cause of the problem?
Miles Archer
(18,837 posts)1). No, he doesn't.
2). One of his staff explained it to him. He nodded in agreement until he got impatient, then tuned them out, but they wrote "inverted yield curve" down for him and said "When in doubt, just say "inverted yield curve" and you'll be OK.
3). He did.
Sort of like George W Bush saying a sovereign nation is a nation that has sovereignty. An inverted yield curve is like a yield curve, except it's inverted. MAGA!
