(33,688 posts)Molly and her great good friend Ann Richards are kicking back with a bottle of wine and laughing uproariously at the open air lunatic asylum that is the Repiglican party.

(12,359 posts)A bunch of us were just talking about her last night, lamenting how much we missed her, as well.
I loved it when she quipped: George W. Bush was born on third base, and thinks he hit a triple.

(12,359 posts)Of course, she would be holding Obama's feet to the fire, as well. But she always seemed to stick it to Republicans more brilliantly.

(4,104 posts)How much I miss my friend, Sheila. She died last December of cancer. She and DU got me through eight years of Bush. I can't believe I have to face this election without her. I feel especially lonely tonight.

(269,067 posts)She was delighted to live long enough for Obama to win. She was hoping to stick around for November. Truth be told she was the greatest survivor we knew - leukemia and she fought it for eleven and a half years.

(75,480 posts)The good ones are always gone, especially when you really need them. I discovered Molly and her writing in Texas when my DH and I spent some time there. She wasn't a national figure then. But it only goes to prove that among all the coal a diamond can be forged. I really miss Gore Vidal too. I can't imagine what he would say about this spectacle of liars.
