There's many threads posted here after a mass shooting but I don't see posts about what people are doing or plan to do to combat the problem.
In the interest of full disclosure, the only thing I've done recently is to donate to this:

It's discussed in this thread:

their expressed desire to buy guns... I actually think I deterred some from doing so. (they also took my recommendation to keep bear spray readily accessible at home, which has longer range and will not only take down a bear but a human as well should the need a arrive--without lethal consequences).
If I had lottery winnings, I could make a dent in the propaganda war, but since I don't, I talk to those around me and try to convince them of the folly of thinking guns are the only way (or even the best way) to protect oneself.

Bought a military surplus long gun in 1980 during a mental lapse and wound up selling that. Haven't owned any firearms since and that's my contribution to stopping gun violence...

(37,748 posts)The important thing however, is that you come to a conclusion based on a lack of evidence or direct response (almost as important as pretending that's not what you're doing).

(36,304 posts)If one has the time to post about how outraged they are about the mass shootings, one would think they'd have some time to post about what they are doing to install common sense gun control laws.
It's human nature to respond to a perceived threat (assault weapons and high capacity magazines) with some sort of action. The greater the perceived threat, the greater and more vigorous the response. It's also human nature to respond to a non-threat with no action.
