Justice Democrats, the progressive group that helped elect Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y), announced three endorsements Wednesday: two primary challengers to Democratic incumbents and one challenger to a Republican incumbent.
The organization endorsed Alex Morse, Morgan Harper, and Kara Eastman, who are running to unseat Reps. Richard Neal (D-Mass.), Joyce Beatty (D-Ohio) and Don Bacon (R-Neb.) respectively.
We are honored to endorse these three candidates as part of a new generation of Democrats who will fight for Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, free college, and ending mass incarceration and deportation, said Justice Democrats executive director Alexandra Rojas in a statement.
The Hill has reached out to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee for comment.

(14,971 posts)deep blue districts. Incumbents who've held those seats for a long time have a tendency to become complacent. If they get out ,campaign hard and are reasonably well liked , they should hold on to their seats plus they'll have the DSCC behind them.

(67,782 posts)Unlike most states, in New York there are two separate primaries. One is for Federal candidates held in June and one is for State candidates held in September. Being a year where the highly visible Governor, Attorney General, etc. primaries were being held, many voters were looking to September to vote for ALL primaries.
They were unaware of the June primary for members of Congress.
That will not happen again.

(67,782 posts)Of the seven who won, three were very popular incumbents and one ran unopposed in the General election. So "their" candidates only won three elections, all of which were already very strong blue districts.
They didn't flip a single red district.

(58,785 posts)and attempting to overset the choices of local voters, as in places like MA, OH, and NE.
Based on its history and recent behaviors, JD can be counted on to support and/or mount smear campaigns against their targets. All out of the very highest power-seeker principles of course.
As George points out, their record of success has been extremely poor so far (most locals object to outside radical groups trying to interfere with their choices, and their tactics). But anyone who ends up owing them, owes them; and, just like Moscow McConnell with those he helps get elected, they will expect long-term return on their investment.
