When you play with white supremacy you're playing with fire.
I've said this before, but when you toy with supremacy, nationalism or any kind of extremism, you're essentially giving a blank check for the worst in society to do their worst. And like everything horrible that happens, it starts at the top. If electing a leader says a lot about who you are as a society, well what does electing a violent extremist who says nasty things on a daily basis say about ourselves? Well if our president is an asshole, then we're currently being run by a bunch of assholes.
White supremacy is not a free speech issue. It's dangerous and deadly, and has cost hundreds of thousands of lives throughout the years. The term is "stochastic terrorism", but it's like playing a game of Russian roulette. Trump tweets angry things at Maxine Waters. Bam, Maxine Waters gets death threats and a pipe bomb mailed to her house. Trump tweets angry things about Elijah Cummings. Someone breaks into Elijah Cummings' house. Trump tweets about an illegal immigrant "invasion" and bam, we get people going through Walmarts with AK47s and gigantic attachments killing as many people as they can.
It's not just an isolated incident, it's a pattern of extremist behavior. And playing with white supremacy or white nationalism, or any of the sort is akin to playing a game of Russian Roulette. Pull the trigger now, nothing. Pull it again, bam. So if we keep up with this for another 4, 8, 16 years who knows where this is going to end? It's nothing to fuck around with. That's how we end up with this.
