I'm beginning to think we need background checks for potential lawmakers

Background check for anyone who wants to run for public office ... must include release of tax returns, criminal history and psychiatric examination by a panel of three doctors. Post results on a public forum. Allow for comments. Six months prior to anyone wanting to run for office.

Like it will ever happen.... I guess I can dream....

The RNC should have vetted Trump and never allowed him to be on their debate stage.

Anyone can run,but party backing should be well vetted.

Obviously, far too many undesireables slip through that system.

At the very least, they should have to pass a citizenship test.

Of course, the people who vote for them are perhaps more important.

I mean, orientation x3 and maybe a little dementia and delusional thinking testing, but I’d have to think about that, even.

Sometimes we can overwhelmingly agree on diagnoses but it’s often the case that symptoms present and you have to treat by throwing something as sensible as possible at it and see if it works. And frankly it’s so easily manipulated and abused, and has been, that the dangers are immense. I hate that fact, but it’s true.

Heaven forbid the electorate realize their politicians true predictions.

A diagnosis is the sum of the symptoms observed. By focusing on
symptoms, like the worship of a failed confederate ideology, nearly
two hundred years old, we gain very little, if anything at all.

Save your hatred for those too wealthy and powerful.

Because they do not consider you, your family, your friends or your
neighbors, whether white, brown, black, christian or jewish as worthy
of even therit contempt.
