(2,537 posts)Glen Oakley. He was a good guy with a gun. He just wasnt shooting anybody. His first priority was to save children. I have no problem with that.

(40,211 posts)He was talking to Jake Tapper and said there would have been a lot of people with guns in Walmart at that time and not one took down the shooter. The good guy with a gun saving the day is a myth.

(6,110 posts)my little 9mm. But the cost of applying was too much in Florida.
Why should little 79 year old me, with zero crime record, should have to pay mucho $$ to apply carry permit? I am vulnerable not just at home, but at any public place. I can shoot 6" target circle at 30 feet at the gun range..

(6,110 posts)If guys like me could acquire carry permits with minimal cost, the public will have less chance of multiple deaths by a single shooter. And it will work quickly versus decades necessary to dwindle supply of rapid firing guns legally obtained by civilians. what is wrong with BOTH, a faster solution and a long term solution?

(13,524 posts)If you cant find a good guy with a gun to stop the bad guy with the gun in a Texas Walmart, you need to bury that idea in the trash.
