Ugh, I'm so frustrated with the debates and candidates - who cares about anything if we have multiple mass shootings every week?

By the way I agree with you - the debates are ridiculous in the middle of this mess

(50,310 posts)As for our candidates, they've got to know the only thing that matters is ousting Trump. Forget what they stand for. If they are reasonably sane and can win the election, they've got the nomination.

I now believe that, for at least the last decade, the Republican leadership must have been opposing all gun control, including military-grade weaponry, because their strategy calls for disruption by accelerating RW violence.
I'm also afraid we should expect that greatly increased 2020 election subversion by various methods will now likely include some of the violence at polling places that many have been fearing but has been very rare before. (Remembering at this point attempts at physical takeovers of precinct facilities to disrupt ballots and counts by Republican Party operatives in the past, but virtually no attacks against voters themselves.)
It had to become very bad before we could see and believe it, and now it has. The sooner that especially the millions of conservatives committed to democracy realize what the RW traitors in office are up to, the better for all of us.
