Another Nuremberg rally...

Last edited Sat Aug 3, 2019, 09:08 AM - Edit history (1)

It's like a cheap thrill...

Like thousands of Pavlov's dogs, they wait for his pause so they can applaud. His nose stuck in the air and his chin jutted out like Mussolini, he struts across the stage in front of his admiring worshipers.

His lies and divisive hatred spew from his mouth like a fireman's hose.

If he were an electric car, his rally would be his charging station. He needs the re-assurance that he can still fire up his followers.

It's a sad time in our nation's history but it is where we are...

The audience stupidity is too low to measure.

They are sucking up the lies with hoots and hollers.

How sad.

How frightening.

The one thing I noticed was the young black boy. He did not applaud at all.

There he was right in the middle of screaming white adults laughing and applauding.

So much like Adolph Hitler rallies it is beyond comprehension that people applaud him

No internet. Only a few snatches of news on the car radio if we happened to be in it going somewhere.

Let me tell you the peace of mind at not knowing what 45 was saying that day. And by the next day or two it's all gone anyway, and doesn't matter, because they, the media, are on to the next thing. It's a symbiotic relationship. It's even true of some pundits on Twitter who thrive on reacting to 45.

So I'm avoiding that circus and focusing on other things and it feels better. No need to get caught up in that endless cycle. We don't have cable anyway so we watch PBS Newshour and put on the mute whenever 45's face is on it spouting his filth and lies. If it isn't lies, it's utter nonsense because he's so incompetent as a president and human being.

I'm reading The Atlantic and New Yorker. Not hiding from news. I'm watching debate coverage world events. Just being really selective about hearing about that clown, and life is better for it.

I have on DVD the series “the World At War” from the early 70s, and Orange Twitler’s rallies and the rallies of Hitler and Mussolini are strikingly similar right down to the fawning crowds.

Of course we know from the release of audio tapes of Tricky Dick and the old B actor Reagan is they said in private pretty much what that Orange Creep says out loud.

We better choose wisely and beat that Orange Disaster and hopefully take back the Senate.....including retiring the Turtle, aka Moscow Mitch.......I will be donating heavily to his worthy female opponent this weekend.

and has any responsibility for putting on political rallies is an idiot.

Goebbels was a genius, and absolute genius. That shit worked, works, and will work. All that is needed is an authoritarian leader, a budget, and planning.

Required viewing in any Political Science class worthy of the name, or for anyone working campaigns.

we can also use the Nuremberg analogy because they are going to have to be brought to trial for crimes against humanity.

And I'm dead serious about that. These people in cages in these concentration camps have to be freed and reunited, and they need to be brought in - the ones that want to - to testify against the criminals. Because of all the things Trump has done that I believe to be crimes, and they are many, these crimes are the absolute worst.

Well done. In so little space you have managed to paint the exact picture. As I read it I was able to be there and see the comedy that it is. Thank you

I liked your reference to "Pavlov's Dogs". It deserves that an artist take hold of it to make a painting. I may do it.

Trump loves the adulation of his crowds. And the news media treat his rallies as important instead of calling them for what they are.

When the General campaign swings into action, Trump will be doing 2-3 rallies a day and be largely ignoring his job. If our nominee is doing an average of one stop per day, that is not going to look good for us, even if our nominee is talking pure substance. Our nominee need to match Trump's stops then add some, going everywhere, big towns, small towns.

When you charge a car, it remains charged. Trump's rallies are like a drug for him I've found that the "hit" wears off within 12 hours.
