Donald Trump Lied About Almost Dying In Helicopter Crash, Ex-Employee Says

President Donald Trump made up a story that he narrowly avoided boarding a helicopter that crashed and killed five people, according to a former longtime executive of the Trump Organization.

Barbara Res, who was the company’s vice president in charge of construction, recalled to MSNBC’s Ari Melber on Tuesday how three Trump casino executives and two crew members were killed in the October 1989 disaster. They were returning to Atlantic City from promoting a boxing match in New York City when the aircraft went down.

“Sources said Trump himself was scheduled to be on the flight but decided at the last minute he was too busy to leave New York,” the UPI news wire reported at the time. That was a “total, total lie” promoted by Trump, said Res.

“It wasn’t very long” after the crash “that he was putting out the word that he was supposed to be on that plane or that helicopter, and he didn’t at the last minute, he got pulled off the plane,” Res said. “In other words, he’d be dead now.” Res condemned Trump for “making himself part of the story, a very important story and undermining the fact that three people died, just like he is undermining what happened in 9/11 by exploiting it.”

Chump always makes it all about him. He doesn't get invited to parties, weddings, funerals, what-have-you, because he ISN'T WANTED there. So he crashes them, and then he proceeds to make it all about him. Every time.

I've hated Trump since the 1980s. He has always lied, been a racist, abused women and been a complete jackass.

When this story happened, I remember thinking, "What kind of boss makes this tragedy about himself?" What a loser. A normal person-- especially someone as rich as Trump claims to be-- would have done something magnanimous like set up education funds for the victims kids. Not Trump. The drama had to be how he skirted death.

Trump is an idiot. So is too much of the media who have given him such a free rein with facts.

Barbara Res has known Trump for decades and worked for him in a very high capacity in all his constructions, and he didn’t micromanage her. She used to say nice things about him before he became President but like the highly intelligent woman she is, she’s turned against him.

She says he inserts himself into stories to make himself important. The helicopter crash was after a meeting with him when the people who died left to go back to Atlantic City. He was never supposed to be on that flight. She gave an insight into how he operates, like inserting himself into the 9/11 story when he announced he signed a bill so the First Responders get health care compensation for life by using false modesty to say he doesn’t call himself a First Responder, but that he was there helping them out. She did a great job explaining that.

I wish she would write a book.

Up to the present. The copywrite was in 2013 on that book. A whole lifetime ago.

I thought that was understood.

history of lying, and so forth, e.g., the 'crying wolf, wolf, wolf!' mentality, it becomes less and less believable, to the point that anything that he says is ignored and thus he has to lie even more.

No wonder that no banks want to lend to him, that no one wants to work w/ him, that no competent people want to work w/ him.

I see all this about how he has told over 10,000 lies (and that was months ago).

Isn’t the question more when has he told the truth?

Not sure he ever tells the truth.

You can’t work with this idiot. Nor can you believe anything he says.

Trumps own bankruptcy lawyers say he lies so much they could only meet with him in pairs

Donald Trump’s own bankruptcy lawyers testified that they had a policy of not meeting with the real estate mogul alone because he had a “problem” of constantly lying.
