I guess the point of the whole Convention was to purposely overshadow Romney, so that people forgot what a vapid, lying, asshole, elitist, he was. So it makes sense to have some mystery guest.

Thinking of the FAIL sandwich which has been this Convention so far... it could be the supposed Trump schtick he was supposed to do where he "fires" President Obama. They would think that this is somehow exciting and newsworthy.

But I think they want to rally the troops... so I think it'll be someone like Eastwood, who they perceive as relevant, even tho he's an angry old libertarian.
