What will happen if the House impeaches Trump?

You don't know! I don't know!
I am of the opinion that it will hurt him and that the Senate ignoring the overwhelming evidence of his crimes will hurt the GOP in 2020.
Just my take on things. I could well be wrong.
But some people here think they know that Trump getting a pass by the Senate assures him victory in 2020.
They don't know that, we are in unprecedented territory with this POS POTUS, so maybe we should stop acting like the people here who don't share our conjectures are stupid, we all don't know shit and can only go by our best guesses.

But we can always learn from the past. The Nixon impeachment was successful because the Senate Watergate committee hearings spent a year exposing Nixon’s crimes to the people. The Clinton impeachment wasn’t because Republicans rushed impeachment based on a special counsel report alone.

Since the is no chance of a conviction in the Senate, why take the chance and hand Trump a talking point that he was exonerated. The goal is to get Trump out of office as things stand now the best way to do that is to vote him out next November.

do the same as the Watergate Hearings?

Why take the chance of him saying the House could not impeach because no evidence of wrongdoing?

You know for sure that impeaching him will not hurt him?

especially when the Senate won’t convict.

Why not focus on the best, and currently only, way to get him out of office, the election?

But he will claim victory when the Senate does not remove him.

Forget it. Tear his ass up in a landslide in 2020.

when the House doesn't impeach.

And enough voters will (especially the ones who don't pay attention) will think he did nothing wrong.

It's your opinion, you don't know what will happen. Neither do I.

A landslide would be nice, but the Electoral College is his friend.

But millions of voters do not follow all of this as closely as you or I.

Shining the bright spotlight of impeachment hearings on Trumpian feces will smear it more widely and effectively where it belongs heading into November 2020.

Is like Barry Bonds having the asterisk stain on his MLB career due to Steroid use to enhance his game.

Donald Trump will not be able to shed that stain,of impeachment ever. The Senate Republicans will be labeled "Racist enablers" who can run, but not hide.

... do the right thing!

Members of Congress have sworn an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

What message does it send when the US House of Representatives doesn't even make an attempt to fulfill that oath by impeaching a president who has clearly committed high crimes & misdemeanors and is the asset of a foreign adversary?

On the other hand, if this domestic enemy is impeached by the House but the Senate doesn't convict, a very different message will be sent about Republicans failing to uphold their sworn oath.

If Moscow Mitch thinks the minions will hold firm, he lets the trial proceed

OTOH if there are cracks in the firewall, he ignores the impeachment and refuses to start a Senate trial

Maybe the House inquiry needs to throw light on how Mitch is being compromised and how he is obstructing justice while they're at it

the impeachment investigation.

It is about exposing the truth, about the process. Of course the Senate isn’t going to do anything. That is irrelevant.
