I think I just broke some sort of lawn mowing speed record. I call it the 'Mueller Mow'. (Original Post) Siwsan Jul 2019 OP
Yea I did that too before it gets so hot and before the Mueller hearing started. redstatebluegirl Jul 2019 #1

I changed out of my mowing clothes and got back to the TV, just in time.

My grandpa would "let" me mow his lawns using the riding mower. It was an adventure for me, so win win for both of us haha...

I remember it had a numbered throttle system, and also two general speed settings: turtle and rabbit haha

So I'm now picturing you sprinting to your mower and throwing it into "Rabbit 10" mode!!

I lived off base, in an apartment in an old Brownstone on Broad Street, by Tasker, as I recall. Loved that city and hope to visit it, again.

That whole base area is now called the "Naval Business Center" - basically an office park with all kinds of small and large businesses there (including Tastykake)!

Yea, my landlord was the notorious city council person, Jimmy Tayoun. He and his family were so lovely, to me. Actually the best land lord I've ever had.

I often regret not looking for a civil service job and staying in Philadelphia.

Middle East restaurant which was great! He was the first to (illegally ) expand his restaurant further onto the sidewalk as part of the entrance, way before other restaurants along Chestnut St. finally got permission to do so many years later as a way to liven up the Olde City restaurant scene!

He just passed away a couple years ago too - https://www.inquirer.com/philly/obituaries/jimmy-tayoun-philadelphia-councilman-restaurateur-character-publisher-20171101.html

As I remember Philadelphia.

One time Mrs. Tayoun saw me come home, obviously ill with a really bad cold. She brought me dinner and a glass of lovely wine, because she knew I probably wouldn't feel up to cooking for myself. That's the kind of people they were.

Just around 75, maybe going to 80. Things start to heat up a little more, tomorrow. Still not supposed to be as hellish as last week.

Hartmann's off somewhere and Jefferson is subbing for him, so I'm enjoying an unusually breezy, low humidity day here in N. Ala.
