What will change after Mueller's testimony?

In my opinion, not very much.

I hate to be a pessimist, but in my opinion, Republicans will attempt to spin it one way and the Democrats another. People will be as confused as ever.

I think it is a false hope to believe that Mueller is going to walk into the hearing and give his opening speech and there will be few questions left after he finishes. But that is not going to happen.

The best the Democrats can do with the information from the hearing, in my opinion, is to add it to all the other high crimes and misdemeanors. The Mueller Report is only a part of the charges against Donald Trump.

We should not build up our hopes too high. I hope everything changes when Mueller testifies but I do not believe that is going to happen.

All we will hear from Republicans will be Carter Page, FISA warrants, the Steele dossier, and spying on a duly-elected president. They will make accusations toward Bob Mueller.

Democrats should be prepared.

It will be an expanded version of his previous statement, staying strictly within the confines of the report. He will rephrase some things perhaps but not in a way that will add to the report. My feelings at least.

I think he sees the report as an impeachment referral. It’s up to Congress to act (or not). He has done his bit.

against him.

There are no shortcuts in the process to bring down a President. Something that actually works in our favor. This is not a popularity contest and its not about revenge.

So I expect nothing new. Anyway, I'm done staking my hope on anything he does.

It does concern me some that Republicans seem as eager to get hold of him as the Democrats do. It sounds like they are anxious to focus on process and personnel.

It hasnt happened yet, so its conceivable it wont. I'd almost prefer that outcome.

Anyway, I have no plans to watch it.

i am more looking forward to his intelligence committee appearance.
judging from his presser, the thing he really thinks people need to get a grip on is the threat to fair elections. i suspect on this he might step outside those 4 corners.

maybe he changes the conversation in a positive way, maybe he lets some people know that we have an eye on them, maybe he paints a target on some collaborators. and just maybe he lights a fire under the issue.

obstruction w/o an underlying crime against the same person being charged.

There's no way he agrees with that idea, he knows the real law, and why it says what it does.

Lead him to describe alternatives such as 'obstructing justice to protect a loved one or friend', or 'obstructing justice because you thought it was POSSIBLE you or a loved one had committed a crime, but you weren't sure'.

Get him to admit that the MOST 'successful' possible acts of Obstruction are IN FACT the ones that would lead to no charges being filed, would they not?

And that it's for this very reason that the laws on Obstruction SPECIFICALLY state that no underlying criminal act by the person doing the obstructing ... is required for a person to be guilty of, and prosecuted for ... obstruction of justice.

Lead him to say ... basically ... Barr was full of shit from the jump, and continues to be on this account.

I bet he wants to say this, in fact.

... and they will be paying attention to Mueller's testimony. I really hope the media outlets do a good job of reporting this, and following up. People will be watching and listening, but there will also be tons of spin by Faux Snooze and others.

Is Robert Mueller planning to write a book? I certainly hope so.
