I understand the impulse, but recognized it as that, an impulse. People liked the fact that he slammed back at Trump. The problem was and remains, that if we try to get down in the mud with Trump, using his tactics, it can sting us.

Avenatti got dirty, but he was dirty so when his dirt came back to haunt him he was done, because ultimately we still care about decency.

is a criminal who screwed over clients (including Stormy Daniels). It was obvious he was in it for self promotion from the beginning. And it made me sad that there were Democrats who wanted him to run for president.

His downfall wasn't surprising to me. I'm glad that there is no more talk about how wonderful he is. Because he's just as problematic and as self-interested as Trump is. He is willing to lie, cheat and steal from clients for his own benefit. We find Trump reprehensible for his narcissistic sleaziness. Just because Avenatti is on "our side" (he's not on my side bc he has no integrity) doesn't mean we should have supported his actions. The man has NO integrity.
