I was recently in the presence of a very modest family from south of the border....

The parents are uneducated, but work hard in a local business and make a comfortable living. The oldest son was foreign born, but the other four kids were born here. The two older sons spoke excellent English, while the parents spoke none, and the smaller kids didn't really speak much of anything.

As we were saying our goodbyes, I almost teared up thinking that this sweet family, whose kids could achieve greatness here, is a family that the useless shitbag wants to split up and throw out.

1. We live in a town of such folks

many originally recruited to come here to bust unions in the meat packing industry.
Good families for the most part who only wanted an opportunity and a better life for their families.

We were involved in a tutoring program for several years until age caught up to us. The kids we worked with to begin with graduated from COLLEGE! this year and are looking at a decent life. They are the American dream come to life.

We were among about a dozen or so who helped tutor. It is quite a feeling to be a part of the slice of Americana helping families assimilate.

I think about all of these friends and what would happen if the Orange Menace sent his goons in to split them up.
