Who's up for a bet? Trump will boycott the 2020 presidential debates.

Trump fights only on two occasions:
- if he thinks he can win
- if he thinks he can cheat

Trump is running from the press, ignoring their questions or giving canned answers.
He just cancelled an appearance at the NAACP because it would have included a Q&A session.

If there is one thing Trump hates, it's the notion that someone has the right to hold him accountable.

Trump will boycott the 2020 debates, focusing on rallies, bragging how the Democrats are begging him for a debate.
Fox News will support him how it's a smart move to not debate the desperate, ugly and hateful Democrats.

And all the while Trump will brag how he would totally beat the democratic candidate in a debate if he wanted to.

Hey, I'm fine with that, as long as there are cameras, airing him in action.

It's important he be in his natural environment (other than a golf course).

Crossing his arms looking like a puffer fish. Then pan to the cutout when it is it's turn to speak. That will piss off Trump and boost the Democrat because Trump is afraid to debate on the issues.

Then have Trump and the Republicans defend that to ridicule down the line.

He would never in a million years debate someone on par with Elizabeth Warren or Kamala Harris. They'd clean his clock, and he knows it.

He will declare that "the American people already know where I stand" and that the debates are a waste of time. Nothing more will ever be said or done about it.

So like comment above span to a cutout but play clips of his past statements on how he feels about that issue. I’m sure there are plenty. Or just give his answer by quoting one of his tweets. I believe most of the questions would be covered.

Don't put all your hopes on debates even if Dem candidate mops the floor with him.
Everyone knows the type of person he represents by now.

I would agree with you except for trump's delusional belief that cameras love him.

do you think trump supporters will recognize cowardice if he refuses to debate? not a chance.

Wonder if he will debate other 'thugs that are challenging him?

His debate tactics include:
--Lying
--Yelling
--Lying
--Trying to intimidate
--Lying
--Making fun of opponent
--Lying
--Singing his own praises

Trump has only one strategy at this point, and that is maintaining his base. He is not only making no effort to expand his support base, he is actually risking losing some that are on the fence. No there are not a lot that would fall off the Cult-wagon from his recent racist rants - but there might be a few. It's a stupid strategy when he should be keeping the status quo.

So there is no advantage to him debating anyone as he clearly is not interested in garnering new votes.

The wild card might be if Trump feels that he will get significant ego-stroking from participating in a debate. He might view that as more rewarding that winning the next election. After all he didn't really want to win in 2016.
