To begin with, the US pays twice as much for health care per capita and delivers half the results, when you look at measures such as infant mortality. Oh ... yeah, ... RepubliCons love the fetus and hate the "other" child.
Education?
The true measure of a society's worth is not how the top tiers do, but how the bottom quintile are treated. (Choose your slice; quintile = 20%, decile = 10%, etc.)

(50,559 posts)...is that Anheuser-Busch had been donating water for decades and not telling anyone about it. In the 1970s, my dad used to work forest fires for the Forest Service. (They decided he was too old to be on the fire line, so he was put in charge of mess halls.) He would bring us back cans of water that said Anheuser-Busch on them. During Hurricane Andrew we were getting a lot of A-B's water. I guess they wanted to blow their own horn a little, but what's the harm in that?
