I think the far right evangelicals have a whole lot in common with radical Islamics.

They both see a huge holy war (Armageddon/jihad) as something that’s needed and are willing to push the world into it. Convinced of course that their side would be victorious, so they actually want to encourage it to happen.

Many other similarities as far as raging hypocrisy, attitude toward women or “others” and very good at cherry picking something out of their religious texts to justify their actions while ignoring to larger messages. It’s just funny how they see themselves as so different when it’s the exact opposite.

They always have to have an enemy. It's a vital part of their Manichaen worldview. In the 30s and 40s it was the Jews, whom they believed were bent on world domination. Now it's the Muslims. But they never realize just how much they are projecting.
