I'm convinced that when Jon Stewart reminded McConnell of his promise, he knew it would be broken

Of course, despite the fully justified anger Jon has with the process and his full recognition of McConnell's track record, he is STILL an "I'm going to give you every chance to keep your promise and do what is right" kind of guy.

That's admirable. It doesn't ease what happened with the blocked Senate vote, but it shows the content of his character (as well as McConnell's).

The Rand Paul stunt was bullshit, and there's no way of knowing if McConnell will even respond to Stewart, unless it's in the condescending "what's he getting so upset about" way he did the last time Stewart asked him to do what was right.

And YES, as others have said on DU, the money Paul is so worried about can be found in the tax cuts for the 1%, and in Trump's golf budget.

Neither of the Kentucky senators is the least bit trustworthy. There could have easily been a quid pro quo. Regardless, both men are twisted and cruel weasels, as today’s vote demonstrates.

to fuck Americans over. It’s his long standing modus operandi. Every time something would benefit regular citizens out pops Rand Paul to vote against it.

10 times out of 10 he’s worse than the Republicans.
