Tuned in to watch the Olympic preview and got tangled up in that instead. Terrorism, no it's not. The Navy shot it down, no it didn't. I think it was the last time I binge-watched news. Not because of that, I had already given up TV news, but I am an Olympic nerd and it looked sketchy during the early days. Turned out to be a tragic coincidence.

I lived on Long Island at the time and it was an experience.

There was another crash on LI’s north shore around the same time. A jet circling to land ran out of fuel and crashed onto an estate.

This Californian always liked Pierre Salinger, but I had a hard time wrapping my head around his theory.
