In light of President Donald Trumps recent racist attacks against four progressive congresswomen of color, CNN gave a platform to white nationalist Richard Spencer who was a featured speaker at the deadly 2017 Unite the Right neo-Nazi rally to discuss the red meat race-based attacks on Tuesday.
While Spencer was a strong supporter of Trump at the start of his presidency, as he famously leading the hail Trump, hail our people Nazi-esque chant in Washington, D.C. just after the 2016 election, the alt-right thinktank president told CNNs Sara Sidner that these latest racist tweets from Trump are nothing more than the kind of sentiments you might hear from your drunk uncle while hes watching Hannity.
Many white nationalists will eat up this red meat that Donald Trump is throwing out there. I am not one of them. I recognize the con-game that is going on, Spencer said during the segment, which was pre-taped by CNN and was not aired in its entirety. He gives us nothing outside of racist tweets and by racist tweets, I mean tweets that are meaningless and cheap.
Spencer quickly took to Twitter to promote his CNN hit.

And these women for Trump, without disclosing their political activism.
CNN hosted panel of Trumps female supporters to discuss his racist tweets without revealing their history of Republican activism
CNN presented the segment as a focus group-style panel on Republican women
CNN hosted a panel of women who support President Donald Trump to discuss his racist tweets without revealing that they are staunch Republican activists.
On July 14, CNN hosted a panel of Trumps female supporters to see if their opinions of Trump had changed following a series of racist tweets he directed at four freshman congresswomen. The women expressed strong support for Trump and insisted he is not racist, with one noting that he dated a black woman for two years and two of his wives are immigrants as evidence.
While CNN depicted the panel as a random focus group of Republican women who support Trump, the network failed to disclose that two of them are members of the Texas Women for Trump Coalition, a group that defended Trump in media appearances after an Access Hollywood tape revealed lewd comments he had made about women. Another member of the group is the national director of Trumpettes for America, which Crooks and Liars called a network of socialites who work to gin up support for Trump in the media.

CNN received harsh criticism over the weekend after airing a segment asking Republican women in Florida their opinions of the sexual misconduct allegation currently swirling round Judge Brett Kavanaugh. All five women offered robust defenses of Kavanaugh, seemingly to the surprise of CNN reporter Randi Kaye.
On Twitter, many pointed out that at least two of the women were high placed Republicans operatives and said CNN should have been more transparent and said they were more than just ordinary voters.
In a viral thread Sunday, author and columnist James Surowiecki laid out the case.
CNNs framing of this segment was really irresponsible. This purported to be a focus group that would show what Republican women think of Kavanaugh now. So each woman is identified as a Republican voter,' he said. But in fact, the two women who dominated the discussion are not average voters theyre better described as GOP political operatives.
