and no way do I buy it that he didn't know about all of the atrocities.

With that said, Hitler took care of his "master race." He knew of the dangers of smoking and instituted one of the best ever smoking cessation plans. Hitler also knew of the dangers of asbestos and kept his workers protected from it.

Think about American politicians like John Boehner who passed out tobacco checks to his members on the floor of the House. Corporations like Owens Corning knew of the dangers of asbestos but hid the dangers to make a buck.

Not comparing Boehner or Owens to Hitler, there can never be a comparison to Hitler, but we have Americans who do anything to make a buck.

The GOP has embraced Nazi doctrine and tactics, so it is fair to judge them by their role models.

Attacks on the media. Demonization of minorities. Constant lies and propaganda. Using the legal system to seize power.

Lots of stuff....

A good read: Hitler: Ascent 1889-1939, by Volker Ullrich. It's eye-opening.

No one thinks he wasn’t behind it but he let Himler institute it.
