It isn’t illegal per se, but it isn’t patriotic. Quite the opposite, in my opinion.

So technically, it counts as bunting, which is permissible for wearing or draping.

Still, I really dislike the way the armchair warriors think simply displaying the national colors is an acceptable substitute for actual patriotism.

13. Balony. It's not "The" Flag, it is a scarf with a long blue band of stars to match the red & white

...bands or stripes. It refers to the US flag, but is not in any sense an actual flag. It's lke a piece of 4th of July festive bunting, only worn.
