"On Friday July 12th, 2019, Lights for Liberty: A Vigil to End Human Concentration Camps, will bring thousands of people to locations worldwide as well as to concentration camps across the country, into the streets and into their own front yards, to protest the inhumane conditions faced by migrants."

"Initially planned as a nationwide vigil, Lights for Liberty already has 544 events scheduled not only in all 50 states, but also in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Mexico, The Netherlands, Senegal, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, so far. Peace Corps volunteers are also hosting a virtual event for Americans living around the world who “want it to be known that we are against the inhuman caging of undocumented men, women, and children in concentration camps."

Some are being held in the daytime...like in Phila. Some are even being held on Sat. Some even have more than one even in a single, local are. Go to the link I posted and check out the list. It is constantly changing and new events/locations are being added daily.

I've been to a number of candlelight vigils. Usually they use the cheap white candles, with small waxed dixie cups. Poke a hole in the bottom of the dixie cup, stick the candle through. The cup protects the flame (sort of). It's a nice a effect when it gets dark and there are hundreds (or dozens, or thousands) of people holding them.

It is evening hours in my town. I just figured trying to keep candles going might be difficult but those glow sticks are a good idea. Maybe bring both. I haven’t done anything like that in a long time. It would be real interesting.

Rosie O'Donnell was discussing it with Chris Cuomo and I either Lawrence or Rachel (MSNBC) mentioned it as well. I think the current news that we are getting daily about the conditions is feeding the anger over this disaster of human rights. Now we find that young girls are being supervised by adult men in positions or authority (Border Patrol agents). We all know that this is not a good mix and bad things are happpening, like sexual assault. The cherry on the top is the fact that the Fed Govt know about these crimes and are doing nothing to stop it. In fact, they want conditions to be horrible so those fleeing their dangerous countries won't come here. Jeff Sessions and Stephan Miller cooked this plan up long ago. SADISTS!

They are putting a lot of effort into this. Look at all the organizations who are sponsors. And this goes beyond the US.

which is why I'm so surprised it isn't buzzing on places like this. Kind of sad, when I think back to the days when I was more of an active activist.

Not sure if I can make it, but I will spread the word. Demonstrations and public pressure work. Thanks to all who show up

just go outside their apt or house and light a candle or point a flashlight up to the sky, sort of like the film Network where they shout out of their windows, "I'm mad as Hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!".

I can't go due to my failing health but that is what I will do instead. I wish I could donate but I need the ACA and if they cut my health insur I will need every cent I have saved (the meds alone are over $25,000 a year).

where I'm at for the Summer (pop 5500) there is to be something this Friday on the Courthouse steps. I'm taking a flashlight, as well as a candle if it's not raining.

I've signed up for the one here and tried to recruit other local DUers.

Big turnouts should make news: Americans object to these concentration camps.

so I am hopeful about the turnout. This inhumanity must be ended ASAP! Adult men in charge of young girls/children is never a good combination.
