(81,318 posts)If you ignore the plight of children - some as young as only a few months old - ripped away from their mothers arms and locked in cages, but obsess on a mass of differentiating cells, you DONT get to say youre pro-life.
Pass it on.
Im trying that meme out this weekend (in another subject). As part of the Research and Writing team in my Indivisible group, we write up five asks, one per weekday.
One big mess up here in Oregon came from the state CONS (in the minority) running away and hiding in Idaho to deny majority Dems in the Capitol a quorum to vote on a bill to address carbon emissions. And the Dems caved (of course).
So I added a line to the script to activists who have CON representatives to call them out for a big shame-on-you and the admonishment about how if you say youre pro-life then you better start caring about protecting life on this planet.
So, BOOM!
Im launching my messaging attack.

(81,318 posts)Because of my news background, my group takes me pretty seriously in the writing and researching department. Im co-chair if that group now, along with another woman whos a real firebrand and writes headlines with a pen like a blazing sword.
The woman who chairs our Postcard Party team is a member of the Research and Writing team and it was her item on local Oregon. She loved the sentence I added! And what she wound up doing last night, after our team finished work yesterday, was to copy the scripts we wrote on these asks, and put them on an info sheet of prompts for the bimonthly Postcard Party today.
People come and write postcards to representatives on these issues and they either copy those prompts or use the ideas in their own words. And then we either mail them or hand-carry them to the local offices of our Senators and congresspeople. And this week, to state representatives, in the wake of the failure of the carbon emission House Bill 2020.
And this, the messaging war is underway. With us on offense.
