Area is about 115 from LA Central, but I sure as heck felt it. I am about 15 miles south of LAX on the 405.

It must be nerve wracking. And I’m a pretty phlegmatic guy.

On edit: Hope y’all are all ok.

I just said on another thread that I would rather have an earthquake than a tornado.

guess it just depends on your experience.

Experienced many quakes and living in Santa Barbara for 66 years. This was gentile and just a 'B' ticket ride in Lompoc. Rolling quakes, like this one, isn't as newsworthy as what is being broadcast. Had this been anywhere on the southern coast the damage caused by liquefaction from south of San Diego to northern San Luis Obispo county would have been be devastating.

I spent 3 hours in a root cellar in Oklahoma when I was 10 because of a tornado warning, that was much worse than any earthquake I've experienced in California.

All you can do is be prepared. You can't hide from a quake yet but technology is giving us seconds of warning. Go science!
