(1,733 posts)He does that all the time. But the Fort McHenry star spangled banner stuff had to be in the prepared script. I guess Stephen Miller isn't a student of history -- at least, not this country's history.

I would tell the audience I am having a problem and ad lib until it was sorted out.
My guess is that he lost his place in reading as he was seething with anger as the rain increased and went off the rails.

(2,166 posts)And one thing they always do while reading is taking, what I call, the wild guess. This is exactly what Trump did.
I did hear that Barron is dyslexic and it does run in families.

I agree - put him under oath - let him preen however he wants to - it's gonna' be a shit storm!
He would fold/collapse so fast that he would be a blubbering fool within 1 hour of the session (not that he isn't already - but he has "support" when he's not under oath and in control of the setting).
THAT is one of the most disappointing things to come out of the Mueller investigation: Get his fat ass in there and make him talk under oath.
THAT would be END OF GAME! - sort of like when Tom Cruise asked Jack Nicholson THAT question:

(820 posts)It always seems to be the case with Trump when he is caught in some stupidity oh "someone told him that" or "he heard that" and now it's a malfunctioning teleprompter.
Bullshit. He lost it. Imagine Obama saying something like that.
He needs to grow up and realize he is out of his depth. He has no ability to be in the office of the President of United States whatsoever. Anyone with half a brain would have read the speech and at least had a minimal understanding of the outline of what he was supposed to say.
But no, he has an excuse. He always has an excuse. No. No he does not. There is no excuse for this bizarre shit. It isn't funny.

all knew that. Imagine how big a moron you'd have to be to place airports at the time of the American Revolution and then just carry on because you didn't recognize or understand the abject stupidity of what you just said. That's Trump. Also, whoever wrote the speech doesn't understand the concept of fact checking. One of the American heroes Trump lauded, Alexander Graham Bell, was born in Scotland and lived much of his life and was buried in Canada. The Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site is in beautiful Baddeck, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia -- well worth a visit, by the way.
