My God! Talk about the extent of stupidity..

Link:To follow..

Black Patient arrested in hospital parking lot..wearing a drip, recovering from a bad case of pneumonia.. He and his boyfriend were just taking a walk.. You wouldn't think that the private security guard would take action and call the cops who then arrested him and (get fucking this!) transported him to jail...

O.k. It's a horror show on all account.. What is amazing is the fact that the
guard actually thought they might be stealing the drip and perhaps sell it on E.Bay.

But most importantly.. This is a prime example of why our country has Trump for
a president.. 2 Words.. Stupidity and Hate.... Just 2 words.

The cop or security guard took the patient's inhaler while he was experiencing difficulties with breathing....Part of the story.

It wasn't just the guard, but the police who didn't seem to think that 1) no one steals an IV, and 2) no one would inject themselves with an IV if they didn't need it, 3) this was a hospital, for God's sake, and people are sick in it and get IVs.

The need to hate is strong in some people. Really, the only solution is to sue and sue big and sue everyone-- the hospital, the guard, the police, the city. They won't repent, but they might think twice if it's going to cost money.

Far more logical (to the extent it's at all logical) is that the guard/pig assumed the patient was bailing from the hospital, stealing shit on the way out.

However, one statement you made needs some info. There are people who would absolutely get an IV for drugs. As a hospital nurse, I am quite familiar with those patients who walked out with IVs just so they had access for drugs out in the world. We called them and told them if they did not return so we could remove it, they would get a visit from the police. They rarely wanted a visit from the cops.

In addition, the officers removing that IV assaulted that man and should be charged. That was serious endangerment.

But I really just wanted to thank you for using punctuation correctly. Bad grammar, spelling, and punctuation distracts from an eloquent message.

Is eBay even a thing anymore?? It seems to have vanished from our public consciousness!

I can't imagine what would go through the head of a security guard when he sees a man, wearing a fucking hospital gown at a hospital, and automatically think he was trying to steal something! And who would steal an IV and then inject it into his own arm?? Why was the first reaction to call the cops rather than go INTO the fucking hospital that was right there, and find out if the man was indeed a patient? Jeez Louise on a stick. The stoopid, it burns!

They could have killed him! They removed the IV (which should be done by a medical professional) and took away his inhaler. He had an asthma attack while in custody. This is just so incredibly effed up. Maybe we shouldn't allow white men to be police officers.

Why on earth would they think someone who was walking around with an IV drip in their arm was trying to steal it? Is this really a thing? Who breaks into a hospital, finds a random IV drip lying around, slips into a hospital gown, and then proceeds to attempt to steal it by walking out of the hospital in broad daylight while hooked up to it in front of the cops?

The racism of white cops is just out of control in this country. They should be sued for the emotional and potential physical trauma they caused this patient.

I'm sure nobody doubted the man was an actual patient ... they just thought he was bailing with hospital gear, cause yes, sadly, that is a thing that happens for real.

The hospitals must be rolling in dough these days if they can afford to pay out multi-million dollar lawsuits. Anybody with just the tiniest bit of commonsense could have avoided this.

Those hospital security folks are pretty busy, you know. First, you have to check the person's wrist, and if the wristband isn't there, you have to go all the way to the other wrist and check that! The security guard was obviously one of those take-charge men of action types, who doesn't have time for all that "wristband" folderol. Call the cops, spin a big story, and let nature take its course.

from the hospital with a regularity that I'm sure would surprise you.

That's a lotta free dope, you see ...

Not saying the authorities didn't f*** up and/or aren't racists, but it's sadly not as totally unreasonable as many on this thread are making it out to be.

I'd like to know a) what was in the bag, and b) how far from the hospital were they when apprehended ... before I go whole hog on the condemnation.
