(1,706 posts)Biden showed he is not up to it in the debates and Sanders is a great progressive voice but not really going to do it. He is clueless about modern culture.

(4,546 posts)and SAW it happen. I was a fairly new DU member at the time, and was following a thread on here at the same time in which we were following the results. I will NEVER forget it. And no one can ever convince me that the election wasn't stolen from Kerry in that very moment. I was stunned, and so was everyone else posting here on that thread. The universe groaned and shifted for me in that moment. Three times this has happened to us: Gore, Kerry, and Hillary. The only reason it didn't happen with Obama is that we pulled in voters by such a huge margin that they were unable to flip it. Those vote tallies were "officially" much closer than they should have been, so they tried both times, but just couldn't pull it off. We MUST not let this happen again. The stakes are higher than they've ever been. IMHO.

(21,946 posts)bush was ahead.
Another small precinct showed more votes for bush than they had registered voters. People notified the powers that be, and they had put a lot of Kerry's votes in the bush column that put bush ahead, and at the same time they didn't take Kerry's votes away.

Ken Blackwells Greatest Hits: Voting Edition
By Katrice Williams
<<1. Blackwell tried to reject thousands of voter registration forms because they were on the wrong weight of paper. No eligible voter should be disenfranchised because of a technicality, much less because of the weight of paper they used to fill out their form!
2. He prohibited people who requested an absentee ballot from voting provisionally if they did not receive their absentee ballot in the mail.
3. Blackwell and 21 other county boards of elections were sued by the Ohio Justice and Policy Center for advising voters they could not vote while on probation or parole. If Blackwell had instructed election officials to properly inform individuals with criminal convictions about their right to vote, several thousand more Ohioans would have participated in the 2004 elections.
4. Blackwell and former Director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services Barbara Rile were sued for failing to provide voter registration opportunities in public assistance offices as required by the National Voter Registration Act of 1993.
5. Blackwell issued Directive 2004-33 to Ohios local election officials which instructed poll workers to confirm a voters eligibility before issuing a provisional ballot. Thousands of voters were denied a provisional ballot because of his exclusionary voting directives.
Lastly, Blackwells track record as Ohios election officer demonstrates a man dedicated to partisan politics. In October 2004, Blackwell sent a letter to GOP supporters while he was serving as Secretary of State, stressing the importance of the anti-gay marriage ballot issue. He also emphasized voting for this issue would draw other conservative supporters to the polls who would most likely vote for then-President George W. Bush.>>

(6,823 posts)The company had a contract with the AG of Ohio. The data sent to a server in Tennesee around 11, with Kerry leading, final tabulation came back with Bush winning. My own investigation found a curious anomaly. Morrow County, a small conservative, farming county with too few votes to bother switching returned 7% LESS votes for Bush in 04 as opposed to 00, but major urban centers like Dayton, Toledo, Youngstown were reporting +7% INCREASES for Bush in 2004. One of the officials of that company, set to testify about the late night switch, died in a plane crash soon before his testimony.

(4,575 posts)And of course Manafort was involved! Our questions about a stolen election were pooh poohed somewhat in the same way our cries for impeachment are now. I think we have a real opportunity here to break away from the status quo and elect someone who won't just go along to get along.
