General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsWe have to get our priorities prioritized.
The goal is to regain sanity in our government.
Some want to try for impeachment. I think, if we cannot get removal as the end result, it is little more than a long form "sternly worded letter". And even if did get impeachment and removal, there's still Pence.
Our top two priorities, in my view, are retaining the House and winning the Senate.
Our third priority would be winning the White House.
I think our big money donors ought to be helping with the House and Senate. Why, for example, is Tom Steyer on his Quixotic impeachment campaign when his money could be far more helpful funding a strong challenger to McConnell?
I think we need to beg, plead, and cajole viable Senate candidates like O'Rourke and Abrams to run for the Senate in their respective states of Tejas and Georgia.
Back home, we need to flip state legislatures now that gerrymandering is law of the land.
We need our blue state legislatures to gerrymander the living fuck out of their states so no red seat is even close to possible.
We can try to work with a president, but we REALLY need to be able to CONTROL a president.

(2,168 posts)The Senate should be where many dem candidates should be running. We need to take the senate. We NEED to get Mitch McConnel out. He has a poor approval rating in his state. But I think the number one priority is to get rid of Trump. We can not have another four years of the insanity, and another Supreme Court pick, no way!
