Is This An Attack Line That Could Stick?

Thinking ahead to next year at this time, I came up with a line for our nominee to use that I think might score some huge dividends. When the question inevitably comes up, "What makes you different from Donald Trump?" I think that no matter who our nominee is, the PERFECT response would be, "I'm able to win WITHOUT the Russians' help."

To me, I think this line hits hard on a number of different fronts. First, it puts the "Trump is a Traitor" attack right there on front street, and now he has to deal with it. One of the things Republicans do very effectively is they just throw out crap and make the Democrats deny it. Like it or not, denying accusations, no matter how absurd, makes you look weak, which is the second reason why this line is great. It puts him on defense for a change. Third, it hits him right in his weakest spot: his fragile ego. He talks about what a "winner" he is. This line paints him as a loser who can't win without help.

And finally, and I believe most importantly, if this line scores huge and starts being repeated over and over, and maybe even becomes a theme of the campaign, I think it's possible that Trump's bruised ego might cause him to have an, "I'll show you!" moment, and maybe he'll instruct his Russian hackers to stand down, just so he can prove he can do it on his own. This one's a stretch, but it's the only way I can think of to combat what I feel is the biggest threat in this election: the Russian vote-hacking. The Republicans won't allow us to protect the vote through legislation, so our only hope of stopping it might be to goad Trump into refusing the help.

So what do you guys think? In an election that is going to be dominated once again by Trump's schoolyard taunts, I think this might be retort that knocks the bully back on his heels. And make no mistake, we're going to need somebody who can humiliate him, because we've already seen that competence and superior intelligence aren't enough. I believe that if you bloody his nose, you'll knock him off his game, and that's how you win.

rethugs use whatever childish insult that comes into their minds regardless of truth or maturity. I don't have a problem with throwing truthful insults back their way.

He can't help but swing at it, over and over...it will mess with his uuuge ego and twist his tiny mind. And he'll look like the weak blathering idiot he is.
