I wish this weren't the way, but we didn't choose this. Now that SCOTUS has ruled partisan gerrymandering is not unconstitutional, we don't really have a choice. After the next redistricting there need to be zero Republican Representatives from any state where we control the legislature and the governor's mansion. None. Fire with fire.

And I heartily agree: We need to gerrymander the shit out of every state we possibly can and do everything we can to make sure the republicans never have access to government again.

first congressman? John Delaney, who was in the debate last night. His ambition was greater than this office, and he resigned in January to run for president.

(4,533 posts)We might get fairness today by gerrymandering dem states but the USA will be around after we have all died. In the long run gerrymandering obviously leads to bad results. Young people will soon overwhelm older voters almost everywhere. Be patient. Help is on the way. We can add DC and Puerto Rico as states in the intermediate term.
