If Trump Went to Prison, Would He Still Have SS Protection?

I know the chances of Donald Trump's going to prison are very slim, but I'm curious if anyone knows the answer to this. I wonder if he would have to serve his sentence under house arrest if he were convicted of a felony.

Ex-presidents get lifetime SS protection.
Guess that would keep him out of the gen pop.

Former presidents get ten years of such protection. It's felt that in that time, they can write a book or two to provide enough money to pay for their own security.

Then trump can pay off his own people to protect him when the time comes.
Question will be will he still have money to do anything?
Maybe the boys can be placed in the same lockup for his protection.

The 1997 amendment was reverted by the Former Presidents Protection Act of 2012 (Pub.L. 112–257).[2] All living former presidents and their spouses after Dwight D. Eisenhower are now entitled to receive lifetime Secret Service protection.[3]

But, this will be the rationale for Pence pardoning him someday. Effectively, his Secret Service detail would be imprisoned, and I don't think anyone wants that to happen to them.

for doing so--e.g., the example of SS protection of then SOS Hillary Clinton to State Department protective services.

Another option for the Secret Service would be to hand off its protective responsibilities to the Bureau of Prisons or appropriate state-level Department of Corrections. When Hillary Clinton joined President Barack Obama’s Cabinet in 2009, the Secret Service turned over at least some of the work of protecting her to the State Department’s Bureau of Diplomatic Security. If a former president or first lady were locked up, the Secret Service might inspect the prison and its procedures to ensure everything was up to snuff, and then agree to let the warden handle things from there. Even then, the agency might choose to keep a modest presence in the prison, with an agent stationed in an administrative office, for example. It might also have a special plan for extracting the former president or first lady in case of prison riots.

And sure, it would give Pence his "cover" for a pardon, but frankly, I think Trump may be at more risk for unpardonable State charges anyway.

Asking Secret Service agents to lay down their lives for Trump during a prison riot. Not palatable in the least.
.
And as for state charges, the administrative burden of the situation would put immense pressure, even on a Democratic governor to commute a sentence, but leave a large fine intact.

But it would be great if he wasn't allowed to play golf anymore. He's played (and cheated) at enough golf games for 2 lifetimes, and that's just since he's been in office. I think we should at least be reimbursed for all that he's spent on playing golf.

but I don't think "the country" is ready for an ex-president sitting in jail. I am, but that talking point will be screamed from the rooftops, "to spare the country the pain and division". I can hear the whiners now.

The British imprisoned their royalty in the Tower of London, and the French exiled Napoleon to the island of Saint Helena off the coast of Africa where he died six years later.

Presidents only received a pension since Harry Truman, since he was broke after serving as President. Is a pension even necessary anymore? Former Presidents these days certainly earn enough to live on for the rest of their lives through books, speeches, etc.

Presidents nowadays get extremely wealthy after leaving office.

But yes he will receive the pension unless the law is amended, as it's not based on need, but on the basis of holding the office of President.

Unless the law is changed by Congress and signed by a President.

The result would be that he wouldn't be sent to typical prison.

It would be more of a Spandau Prison situation, or as you suggest house arrests.
