(2,952 posts)It doesn't take long to succumb to a heat stroke. I know. I was near dead from one before hubby realized & dumped the dogs water bowl on my head. I was setting up camp in 100+ heat. I was hooking up the water to the trailer & didn't even realize I was in trouble, other than I started feeling nauseous. I went under the awning & sat on the steps trying to feel better & catch my breath. I then keeled over & hubby saw me as I went down. Luckily, the first thing I did when we got to the camp site was put the dogs water out next to the steps, then roll out the awning.
Heat still impacts me to this day.

(13,524 posts)I lived in the south most of my early life, and didn't know until I was in my 30's that heat and dehydration can shut your kidneys down and kill you.
So sorry you experienced what you did, but so glad you survived it!!
