A mother reported a teen bully for racially taunting her son. Then he beat her unconscious, police say.

When Beronica Ruiz went to pick up her 12-year-old son from school in Passaic, N.J., last week, it wasn’t the first time that day she needed to be there. Hours earlier, Ruiz and her husband had met with the school’s vice principal over concerns that their son was threatened by other students who allegedly chanted “All Mexicans should go back behind the wall,” the family’s attorney told The Washington Post.

The New Jersey couple were upset the school didn’t inform them about the taunts, but left the June 19 meeting feeling “somewhat reassured” after the vice principal said he would contact the students and their parents, said Daniel Santiago, the lawyer. But as Ruiz, who was pushing her 1-year-old daughter in a stroller, walked home from Passaic Gifted and Talented Academy School No. 20 with her son that afternoon, the boy noticed they weren’t alone. Three boys trailed behind — and he recognized them.

“[He] turned to his mother and said, ‘Mom, those are the children that were threatening me and they’re following us,’ ” Santiago said.

Moments later, a 13-year-old boy allegedly attacked. Santiago said the boy first punched Ruiz’s son in the face. When the 35-year-old mother tried to step in, the teen hit her and “threw her to the ground,” causing her to lose consciousness, Santiago said.

14. Black people and Mexicans/Mexican-Americans

There is a history of significant animosity between the two groups because they have typically been pitted against one another economically and housed in close proximity in the poorer sections of cities. Just look at the situation in Los Angeles from the late 70's to its peak in the 1990's, though things have mellowed a bit. Constant fighting between Mexican gangs and Black gangs.

I know personally that the bad blood goes back decades, hearing the term "Mayate" and worse from members of my extended family and having a general distrust of Black people growing up. Funny that the first friends I made in kindergarten were two black boys that I used to walk to school with and play with after school. My uncles were not happy with my choice of play mates and would let me know.

Even though the violence is Black on Latino or Latino on Black, it is still facilitated by White Supremacy and by Trump's rhetoric. Trump has highlighted racial tensions and has made life more difficult for both Black people and Latinos. I am sure Trump and his cronies get giddy inside when they think about Blacks and Latinos killing each other off and hurting each other.

6. The worst part about this...

The 13 year old thug is black.

A 13 year old does not get radicalized like this on their own.
It comes from the parents or the Internet.

There are black supremacist groups on the Internet, who disparage Asians, Hispanics and whites.

Is that a woman and her children were attacked by racist bullies. I am less concerned about their skin color than their actions.

It does seem some factor of this incident did really slow the comments however.

There is much more bullying now than ever it seems.

The school has approximately 1000 students. Why do they need 3 anti-bullying specialists??? What, exactly do these specialists do?

I am not sure what the three anti-bullying specialists are doing but maybe they can help the vice principal who was too busy to call the mother at the first incident.

Another tip I have is to remove the bulky from classes rather than the victim.
