Democrats also havent precluded bringing the former Mueller lawyers back for additional rounds.

(7,142 posts)Mueller is not comfortable doing public speaking. Weissman will give it right back to the Freedumb caucus assholes.

(32,639 posts)There's a reason Mueller doesn't want to testify in public, and it's not because of Chump. Mueller really, really hates to speak in public. When he was on TV a couple weeks ago his voice was shaking. I thought maybe he had laryngitis (or something) but it was nerves. He was nervous in front of the cameras.
Well OK, he's not Superman, and he's never looked for the limelight, and he has avoided the media, so this all adds up. We need to recognize that other people on his team might be better suited to face the public and answer the tough questions. It doesn't mean that Mueller can't answer the questions, it just means he'd just rather stay in the background. Now that Mueller is retiring it's time for others to pick up the ball, and hopefully Weissman will be one of them.

(43,867 posts)and they may be more willing to testify than Mueller? It should be interesting.

(7,142 posts)they didn't want to testify either.

(18,486 posts)pressure not to testify and serious consequences if they do.
I don't know if that's what's happening here, but I'm not assuming that just because Schiff says they didn't want to testify that it's actually the case. It's possible they're all pretending the witnesses are being dragged in kicking and screaming and are only testifying because they have no choice.

(17,984 posts)May I ask what streaming device? Trying to cut cable, go to streaming.
2naSalit
(86,636 posts)CSPAN won't let you watch live unless you have a cable acct but MSNBC and a couple streaming services will cover it, maybe PBS online will too.
And there will be archived versions I can watch later too. I'm sure some of those will end up being posted here at some point. I won't miss it forever, just might have to wait a little bit to catch a replay of it somewhere.

(17,984 posts)I am using my IPad more to watch things. Pluto is a streaming device I love. You can pick and choose. So am sure you can watch any where.

(6,186 posts)We cut the cable 5 years ago and bought a Roku to stream to our TV
https://www.roku.com/products/players
Roku acts like your smartphone in that they (it) provides for a way to download an app (for example Netflix, PBS, MLB, etc) which interfaces with your TV.
In summary.
1. You will still need an internet connection. Or a large data package from your cellphone company and a Chromecast device.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chromecast
2. You will need a connection between your TV and the internet. A Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast.
Or stream to your computer as the viewing device.
3. You will likely still need a subscription to a streaming provider.
Most of the free options to watch the news and entertainment programming has been cut off or will soon become yet another pay to play service. The days of free over the air broadcasting is gone if you live in a rural area.

(6,186 posts)I doubt the technology will have a universal footprint and be available to anyone anywhere who wants it.
I'm retired from 25 years in the IT industry and just don't see it have wide-reaching capabilities.
If it did it would change the game.

(781 posts)investigation. This was not in Mueller's jurisdiction. So I don't know if Mueller/senior staff would testify to counterintelligence findings since it's the FBI's investigation. (i.e. I can see them answer with "you need to ask the FBI"
"The fact that it's not present in the report tells me the ball is now and remains in the court of the FBI and the intelligence community," said Frank Figliuzzi, an NBC News contributor and former head of counterintelligence at the FBI."
"For the last year, FBI counterintelligence analysts who were not working on the criminal investigation were embedded in Mueller's office, sending written summaries of foreign intelligence and counterintelligence to FBI headquarters and relevant field offices, the report says."

(15,286 posts)and in his office. I've heard national security pros say that it's not all unusual for investigations like this not to be prosecuted or made public because, presumably, being public would let adversary know what the US learned. Mueller's deputies probably know a lot more than what's been made public. They will be able to corroborate what the FBI agents tell, or have told, the committee.
